Nathan McCarthy, Investment Officer
Nathan McCarthy joined The Baptist Foundation of Alabama in February 2010 as Investment Officer. Nathan is responsible, or is involved in all areas of the Foundation’s investing process and investments. This includes all areas of the design, implementation, allocation, reporting and client communication of the investment portfolios offered to all clients of the Foundation. He works closely with an external institutional investment consultant and together they guide the Foundation’s seven-member Investment Committee. Prior to joining the Foundation, he was a licensed securities professional, having spent five years working at Merrill Lynch as a partner on a three-person institutional consulting team in Montgomery, AL. Prior to this, Nathan worked as a design and manufacturing engineer with Lockheed Martin. His work was involved in aeronautics, but mainly on the F-22 Raptor program located in Atlanta, GA, then later to the missile and bomb programs located near Troy, AL. He earned his undergraduate degree from what is now Kennesaw State University, in Industrial Engineering in 2003. He is now attending New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, working on his Masters of Divinity. Nathan, his wife Caron and their three children are active members of First Baptist Church of Montgomery, where he serves in a variety of leadership positions.
