Bill McCrary Retires June 30
Bill McCrary, Vice President for Church Relations at the Baptist Foundation of Alabama, will retire on June 30. He has served at the Baptist Foundation since October 2007. Previously, he served in the USAF for 25 years and for 12 years as the Safety and Training Officer for the local water works board.
Bill has most enjoyed meeting and developing relationships with Alabama Baptists all over the state. He has worked extensively to explain the important work of the Baptist Foundation, currently in its 75th year. A key element of the Baptist Foundation’s mission has been the expansion of the effort to encourage Alabama Baptists to consider the legacy they will leave behind, as the potential for Kingdom expansion through legacy giving is unsurpassed.
Bill and his wife, Diane, will remain in Montgomery where they are members of First Baptist Church. Bill has served as deacon chairman and stewardship chairman. Both he and Diane are active in the music ministries of First Baptist. They have two daughters and four grandchildren. Bill says he will hopefully play a little more golf…but most importantly reach deeper into the ministry opportunities at First Baptist.
The legacy that Bill desires to leave at the Baptist Foundation is to know that he played a small part in energizing the legacy stewardship “muscles” of Alabama Baptists. The opportunity we have before us through legacy stewardship is truly an Ephesians 3:20 experience!
